Where has the time gone?!? It's now August! Work was really slow this past week. No new openings. Score was beating out JP3 for some sets. Had the past couple of days off after working a straight 7. But it wasn't as bad as working the 9 straight I did last time.
On Saturday night, went to celebrate Val's birthday. Had a minor run in w/some authority. You'll have to ask me what it was if you don't know.
Andrew's last day was supposed to be yesterday, but he'll pop in and help during the weekend.
Finally got myself a cell phone :) Red Nokia 8260. Love the thing.
Nothing major happening with me in the past week or so... Been kinda smooth sailing. Open Original Sin on Friday, so I don't know what to expect.
On a devastating note in Bay Area Television... Bay TV went off the air at midnight last night :( This station was my primary source for watching my alma mater out on the football field and on the basketball courts! Damn AT&T Broadband! They've replaced it with the freaking Food Network. blah. Read yesterday that OCN down in Orange County went off the air also.
Recieved my housing assignment last week. In West on the 5th floor! Tried to call my new roommate tonight, but he's back east with his family. I apparently have his uncle's contact information.
That's about it for now... I'll try to blog more often.
So what's new? Nothing... Opened Original Sin in the dome... what a waste. Work was really, really slow today. And of course, this will all change when we open American Pie 2 next week! Everyone at work had their hours cut because we didn't meet last week's projected attendance nor will we get that much attendance this week. So alas, I have three (3) days off this week. But watch me work 9 straight next week as I did for Score and JP3.
Today was my first of two days off this week. We open American Pie 2 on Friday... good and bad thing all together. Monday was my dad's 60th birthday. Went out to Todai for dinner. I tried to use my old Brenden ticket stubs to get free sodas, but they said that my tickets were too old. Shows how often I went to Brenden in the past couple of years.
Turned in my two weeks notice to Robert also on Monday. Wrote him that I'm still debating if I am going to work at a theatre near school in the fall. He suggested the Great Mall. Still thinking about that. A bunch of assistant managers went to LA this week for a Kodak training class. Bet they're having a lot of fun down there.
Still on the topic on work... watch for a top 10 or maybe 20 list of pet peeves encountered while working at the dome. Here's a preview: Getting apset and sometimes angry when they can't charge $11 to their Credit/Debit card. How many Brian Trenner's are there?!? (j/k Brian)
Can't beleive that school starts in less than 3 weeks. I'm not ready for it at all. I haven't even seen anybody from school since May. Joe's having a birthday party at Darren's, but I don't think I can make it down there on Saturday. Oh well, they'll all have to wait till I return back to the dorms!
Work's over! (For now, at least.) I told Robert that I could work till Monday, but I guess he didn't tell Ashiko or Rosemary before he left for Milpitas. Working opening weekend for American Pie 2 was crazy. We had to card people who looked under 25. Why tthe hell don't people carry IDs is beyond me. And as to why parents don't understand why we can't let their kids see an R-rated film without someone who is at least 17 see it with them makes me wonder. You wonder why kids today are so fucked up. I had 8-10 year olds see the movie. I was like "What the fuck?!?" But I have to give myself mad props... I turned away 30+ people on my last night. Don't you love the power?
I'm going to miss a lot of people there. I'm still persuading a few to go to Milpitas with me... Robert wants some of us down there to help turn things around.
School starts a week from tomorrow. Moving in either Thursday or Friday and have my dad's party on Saturday. I'm not looking forward to going back, but it's away from home.
This summer has been a total blast for me. Met a bunch of cool people, been out of the house a lot, and had a good time.
As for that list of things about work... it will be posted sometime within the next couple of weeks.
